Presidents Award of Excellence 2016

President's Message

Hello, KCALA members and guests!  I would like to take a moment to welcome you to our group and introduce you to the many advantages ALA and KCALA have to offer.  KCALA began in 1975 with an enterprising group of Legal Administrators looking for a way to advance their core knowledge in managing their respective law firms.  Their early efforts have been the foundation on which our association stand today in promoting and enhancing the competence and professionalism of all members of the legal management team.

I can personally attest to the advantages of being a member of ALA and KCALA.  I am relatively new to legal administration and feel that I am a better manager, administrator, and leader because of the benefits provided by the association and our chapter.  Benefits range from education offered in articles, on webinars, at conferences, and at monthly chapters meetings, networking opportunities offered at monthly chapter meetings, at social events, and at conferences, and ideas exchanges offered in Online Communities at alanet.org, at bi-monthly HR Focus Groups, and at monthly Small Firm Meetings.

Want to learn more?  Look around our chapter site while you are here.  You will find information about upcoming events, our Business Partners, community outreach, and chapter leadership.  Don’t stop there.  Visit the ALA website (alanet.org) and click on the “Become a Member Tab” to get a preview of all that ALA has to offer.

If you decide to join or want to know more about KCALA, reach out to me or any other member of the KCALA Board of Directors.  We are all happy to help you navigate your journey as a legal administrator.
